SIX project space – to encourage experimentation and create space.

SIX project space is a project I am extremely proud to have been an integral part of. We saw a need, developed the idea, built a gallery space and fantastic community. Throughout the project we championed the creative arts in an area with little input at the time. I was a director and the lead curator for the duration of the project.

SIX project space began as a space to develop work. It has manifested itself in a number of guises through the years of its existence.

SIX project space was about the people and for the people and simply wanted to provide opportunities where there were none.

SIX project space took the form of a white cube gallery space at first. Around this space a wonderful community grew through sharing practice and ideas. It then became a nomadic entity exploring a number of found and borrowed spaces and ended up supporting residencies for people to have space to develop work away from their usual world.

SIX project space had a period of hibernation after working very hard helping a wide range of people get an inch or two closer to where they want there creative work to be.

SIX project space is currently working on an international exchange project. This has launched an exciting season of collaborative work with a number of women from around the world. For more information see choreographyoftrust.com
